2000 Playoff Report
Week 1 of the playoffs ends with wild Monday night game that decides 3 playoff
games, as Tampa Bay beats St. Louis 38-35 giving the Flying Beavers
and Kings of Nothing a chance at the Championship and sends Brenda's
biatch to the Toilet Bowl. After Sunday Brenda's Biatch had a sizzling
0 fantasy points, and were hoping to make up their 19 point deficit
to the Marauders, only to have 3 players account for 13 points.
The Marauders were holding their breath until Marshall Faulk exploded
for 4 td's and 24 fan pts to secure the victory 48-13.
In the other game of the Toilet Bowl bracket, the Spoilers defeated
the Snoozers 50-39, thanks in part to Brett Favre (18 fan pts) and
Fred Taylor (10 fan pts). The Spoilers had only 1 player with a
Goose Egg in a very well rounded scoring team this week. The Spoilers,
after getting out of the cellar in week 11, now face the Marauders
in the Tidy Bowl. The Snoozers, reigning Toilet Bowl champions,
will have their second chance at the Pink Seat. You will remember
that the Snoozers needed a win in week 15 that would have put them
in the Super Bowl playoffs, now must face the possibility of being
the BFFL's first repeat Toilet Bowl winner.
The Monday night game also decided both of the Super Bowl participants.
The Kings of Nothing had a commanding 62-17 lead heading into the
Monday game over the Raiders. The Kings, with Tory Holt yet to play,
were hoping for many Marshall Faulk Russhing td's. Their hopes came
true, as Kurt Warner of the Raiders threw for only 2 td's and 18
fan pts, while Holt collected one of the td's for 17 fan pts of
his own. The Kings of Nothing will be making their first Super Bowl
appearence since 1995 when the won the BFFL Championship, with the
team name of the Bundy Bombers.
The WhoseYourDaddies, 2 time defending BFFL Champion were "upset" by the
Flying Beavers 80-58. The Daddies had been slowing down towards the end of the
season, but turned in respectable performance in the playoffs. Their hopes of a
Monday night comback from a 22 point deficit were dashed with Issac Bruce
accounted for the old Goose Egg, 0 fan pts. The Flying Beavers, with their GM,
"Columbo" Ferris, go to their 3rd BFFL SuperBowl in the past 5 years. The
Beavers got outstanding performances this week from Jeff Garcia 25 fan pts, and
Eddie George, 28 fan pts to overpower the WhoseYourDaddies.
Who could forget the closest 1998 Championship
game in BFFL history, when the WhoseYourDaddies won by 1 point over the then
named BBBQ( now the Flying Beavers). This game will always be remembered as the
"Jerome, I thought I had 150 yds. Bettus" game. One could only hope for a 2000
BFFL Super Bowl as exciting as that one.

The Marauders look for new strategies next year, after missing the playoffs.
In an interview with this writter the GM of the Marauders had this to say," The
Mo's problem this year came down to the same combination of factors that I use
as an excuse every year:
- Poor lineup selections by the damn GM.
- Injuries in the middle of the season (almost all of my key starters had
them this year, including my kicker)....
- I never really had that QB or anyone for that matter that really lit it up
consistantly (like Culpepper or Eddie George).
- Bad Luck on Monday nights........
Next year, I promise you, things
will be different, including a name change and a completely new strategy for
building the 2001 Champion.
Our crack( not on crack) stats men came up with these "usefull"
stats heading into the playoffs.
